Shakespeare's Rose Theater Company will be making their international debut in Manila this September! For their first production in Manila, the company will be performing two of William Shakespeare's most popular plays, Macbeth and A Midsummer Night's Dream!
The two plays will have 9 shows for a week, from September 17 to 22 at The Theatre at Solaire.
Macbeth is a bloody and action-packed tragedy centered on the ambition, the toxic marriage, and the kingdom of the nobleman Macbeth who encounteres his darkest self after committing a series of crimes to protect himself and his ambition.
A Midsummer Night's Dream, on the other hand, is considered to be one of Shakespeare's funniest and most delightful comedies, telling the story of criss-crossed love and feuding fairies. The play includes the adventures of 4 young Athenian lovers and a group of 6 amateur actors controlled by the fairies who inhabit the forest.
Shakespeare's Rose Theater, which was inspired by the famous London Rose Playhouse, first made its appearance in the city of York last year. The theater hosted productions of William Shakespeare's popular plays, set in the time that they were written.
After gaining popularity and critical acclaim in its debut year, the theater is set to go on a second season in York, as well as a second theater in Blehnheim Palace in Oxford.
