After seven years, The Phantom of The Opera is finally returning to Manila! Rehearsals are now in full swing — have a peek at the musical’s open rehearsal which was held in the morning of January 23rd for the press.
Earlier this month, cast and crew were flown in from all over the world to begin setting up and rehearsing in Manila for the long-awaited Asian tour. Jonathan Roxmouth returns as The Phantom, and joining the tour as the beautiful young soprano Christine is Meghan Picerno. Rounding up the principal cast is Matt Leisy, who will be playing the role of Raoul.
Based on the classic novel Le Fantôme de L'Opéra by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of The Opera tells the tale of a disfigured musical genius known only as the Phantom who haunts the depths of the Paris Opera House. Mesmerised by the
talent and beauty of a young soprano, Christine, the Phantom lures her as his protégé and falls fiercely in love with her. Unaware of Christine's love for Raoul, the Phantom's obsession sets the scene for a dramatic turn of events where jealousy,
madness and passions collide.
