Garmin, a leading brand of smart wearables for active lifestyles, relased its first smartwatch with a vibrant AMOLED display in late October 2019. The Garmin Venu™ is the newest addition to Garmin's arsenal of active lifestyle smartwatches, luring fitness enthusiasts with its extensive range of health and fitness monitoring features. It's sleek and classy to boot, sporting a gorgeously glossy watch screen.
Eyecatching and Vibrant Display
Venu's AMOLED display gives you vibrant visuals — deeper blacks, brighter colors, especially noticeable when you're using colorful watch faces. If you love customizing the look of your smartwatch and like different designs, you can even pick a watch face to suit your mood of the day.
Downloading the Connect IQ app on your phone allows you to personalize Venu, and the choices are planty (to the point of overwhelming!) as it is an open platform for third-party developer apps. After getting the hang of both Connect IQ app and and Connect App (Garmin's main health and fitness data tracker app), you'll definitely have fun choosing what watch display (there are hundreds of options!) to install on your Venu as much as I did.
Long-Lasting battery Life
Another noteworthy feature of Venu is its above average battery life — it's said to last up to five days, so you don't need to bring the charging cable around. You can definitely skip charging the device for short trips away from home. From unboxing and initial charge, the device lasted 4 days on me, worn daily even while sleeping (save for bathtime). There's an option for an always-on display mode, but if you opt out on this and additionally, lessen the brightness of the watch display, your device will go for even longer.
Comprehensive Activity Tracking
It's not a surprise that Garmin is a favorite brand among athletes, sports enthusiasts, and fitness geeks — their fitness watches are extremely robust, tracking every activity from sleep to steps, breathing to exercises, like a pro. Venu allows you to track your day and monitor your body extensively: you can get detailed information on heart rate, stress level, steps, stairs, calories, breaths per minute, pulse oximetry, weather, calendar, and hydration.
As it is very comprehensive, browsing through the app and the swiping your watch's screen takes just a little bit longer to setup — so you can narrow it down to specifics to bookmark your top workouts, sports, and favorite activities to track. I took the Venu to several of my favorite fitness classes such as Pound (drumming-based cardio), barre/pilates, circuit traning, and indoor rowing, and was able to set the watch to the specific types of workouts for better exercise tracking.
Its indoor rowing tracker impresses the most, giving you stroke rate, stroke count, heart rate, and time. The Venu is definitely a powerful fitness companion for the fitness buff wanting the most comprehensive data paired with sleek and stylish hardware.
The Garmin Venu is now available at authorized retailers at SRP P23,595. Venu is available online via Kinetic, Lazada, Shopee, and Lazada, and at Garmin Brand stores, Sports superstores, and Department and Retail stores nationwide.
