There’s a new feature to check out on Instagram, and it lets you create shorter videos to share with your followers and the Instagram community. Through Reels, users can create fun 15-second multi-clip videos, complete with audio, effects, and other creative tools.
Through this new feature, users have another platform where they can express themselves and show their creativity.
Reels rolled out yesterday and is now available in over 50 countries around the world.
To use Reels, users just need to select “Reels” at the bottom of their Instagram camera. From there, they will see a bunch of editing tools on the left of the screen. This includes Audio, AR Effects, Timer and Countdown, Align, and Speed.
Unlike regular Instagram Stories, users can also use a series of clips in one video. They can either record their clips by pressing and holding the capture button, or they can also import previous clips from their galleries/camera rolls.
Users also have a choice on whether they want to share Reels on the Explore page or keep it solely for their followers or specific people. If they choose the latter, the videos will be like a regular Story, and will disappear after 24 hours.
Reels that appear on the Explore page, however, are accessed by more users, and features the currently trending topics.
