Trainers! This is a battle we didn’t see coming. The Pokemon Company just announced that they will be releasing a MOBA game called Pokemon Unite!
You read that right, the beloved franchise will also be entering the MOBA scene and it will head to the Nintendo Switch and mobile. This comes as a surprise especially during this time that most fans of the strategy subgenre are just excited to try out the upcoming League of Legends: Wild Rift on mobile.
The Pokemon Company unveiled the upcoming game on their online event, Pokemon Presents. See the presentation below, which includes exciting footage of the game:
As seen in the video, our favorite Kanto starters are ready to go into battle along with other familiar Pokemon. Besides Pikachu, Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur, we also get to see Gengar, Snorlax, Machamp, Lucario, and more in action!
The free-to-play game is being developed in cooperation with Tencent and developer TiMi Studios. Its release date is yet to be announced.

The Pokemon Company has earlier announced two new games, the New Pokemon Snap for Nintendo Switch and Pokemon Cafe Mix for both the Switch and mobile. It is now available for download on the App Store and Play Store.
