Globe Telecom has signed an exclusive deal with Sphero, an industry which makes connected entertainment robots. With this, Globe is the only telco in the Philippines to bring the Star Wars BB-8 app-enabled droid to the country for all the Star Wars fans out there.
In case you don't know yet, the BB-8 is a character first shown last year in the first trailer for the upcoming movie, Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens.
The Sphero can be controlled with a smartphone through a free app, has the ability to project holograms and can respond to different voice commands like "It's a Trap," "Run Away," and "Go Explore" — you can find everything by going to Settings and tapping on the icon to Voice Commands.
Moreover, it is compatible with any iOS and Android devices, enclosed in a polycarbonate shell and has a Bluetooth smart BLE connection of up to 100-feet range.
