YouTube Launches a Streaming Service for $35/month

Just when you thought YouTube couldn't get any better!

Just when you thought YouTube couldn't get any better, it unveils its own streaming TV service offering live streams of broadcast and cable television programming alongside its thousands of online videos already found on YouTube.

For a monthly fee of $35, subscribers get to watch from major networks like ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, ESPN and dozens of popular cable networks. It will be a standalone app which covers up to six accounts, however, users can watch only up to three streams simultaneously.

They also threw in YouTube Red which is a $10/month subscription service which offers exclusive YouTube content and movies. Although YouTube Red eliminates ads on videos, YouTube's tv streaming subscription doesn't have the said feature.

In addition, the plan allows users to record as many shows as they want since there's no storage limit and it will be saved for as long as nine months. Lastly, the app's search page will let you see recommendations by genre, network, and categories tailored to the videos you frequently watch.

Unfortunately, there are no reports yet whether it will be available in countries other than the United States. For now, it is announced it will be available soon in the largest U.S. markets. Visit tv.youtube.com to find out when they launch it in your area.
