The winners of this year’s App Store Awards have been named, and the mobile game spawned by the hit League of Legends franchise bags the title of iPhone Game of The Year!
Officially released last October, League of Legends: Wild Rift is a skill-and-strategy 5v5 MOBA game from Riot Games that recreates the gaming experience of LoL on PC for players on smartphones. It has also brought familiar characters into the game such as Jinx, Ahri, Yasuo, and Morgana to name a few.
League of Legends also received further acclaim recently even from non-gamers after Netflix released the animated series Arcane. Based on the game’s characters, the show told the story of sisters Vi and Jinx who find themselves on the opposing sides of a war over the power of arcane technology.
