From today, movie and TV lovers in the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos will get to enjoy iwonder, a new and fast-growing video streaming service sweeping Asia Pacific dedicated to award-winning and critically-acclaimed documentaries. Already a hit in Singapore, Australia and New Zealand where it launched earlier this year, iwonder.com offers access to over 1,000 of the globe’s best factual entertainment content, giving viewers the opportunity to explore key themes, news and current affairs worldwide.

Available with a one-month free trial and then a low US$4.99 per month or US$49.90 for an annual subscription, viewers can sign up at iwonder.com or by downloading the iOS or Android mobile or tablet apps to watch on the move or on big screens via Chromecast or Airplay.

With more than 50 genres like: current affairs, culture, social issues, music, art, technology, politics, sports, climate change, history and more – iwonder’s extensive library features films and series making headlines at the Oscars, Emmys, Sundance Film Festival, Cannes Film Festival and more. Examples include: The Kleptocrats – the jaw-dropping investigation into the multi-billion dollar scandal that funded Leonardo DiCaprio’s movie The Wolf Of Wall Street, and inspired bestselling book Billion Dollar Whale; Children Of The Sex Trade – two fearless Filipinos sisters help former Australian police and Special Forces officers rescue underage girls from sex bars.

For iwonder’s extended film list, refer to appendix below. Keeping viewers up-to-date with global and regional current affairs such as the 1MDB scandal, Hong Kong protests, Brexit, “Me Too” movement, climate change and more, news stories are integrated into the iwonder home page and paired with documentary recommendations that explore similar themes and provide deeper context into each topic. This unique ability to entertain and inform in a way that stays relevant to the real-world sets iwonder.com apart from other streaming services, giving viewers in the Philippines access to top-rated content with something to say.

iwonder co-founder and CEO, James Bridges said, "iwonder provides great entertainment along with the opportunity to learn something new about our ever-changing world. We work hard to find the best documentaries from all over the world so that our customers don’t have to. And by keeping our finger on the pulse of daily global developments to fill our unique homepage newsfeed, the films we serve up are never far from the headlines. With customers enjoying the service in Australia, New Zealand and Singapore, we’re excited to be able to bring iwonder to viewers in the Philippines looking to combine an appetite for entertainment with a thirst for knowledge.”
