Sony launches latest flagship APS-C sensor camera, the α6500, in the Philippines

Know more about Sony a6500's features plus see some unedited photos we took!

Sony Philippines introduced its latest flagship APS-C sensor camera, the α6500. At a Food Photography Workshop and live cooking demonstration featuring professional food and lifestyle photographer Gabby Cantero and Rustic Morning’s Chef Portia Baluyut, Sony was able to showcase the prowess of its latest shooter.

The a6500 is the latest on Sony's top-of-the-line APS-C E-mount mirrorless camera. Similar to its older sibling, the a6300, it is equipped with an updated version of the 24.2MP CMOS sensor as well has more added features like in-body image stabilization, a 425 phase detection AF points, a touchscreen control allowing users to lock focus on a subject by tapping the screen, a 4K (3840 x 2160p) UHD in Super 35mm format and so much more.

In addition, the a6500 can shoot images at up to 11 frames per second with continuous autofocus and can shoot at high speeds for up to 307 frames so you won't miss any moment. It also has a new Slow and Quick (S&Q) feature which supports both slow and quick motion. Fram rates from 1fps to 100fps can be selected in 8 steps for up to 50x quick motion and 4x slow motion. Imagine all the food porn videos you could take! Furthermore, you can now extract and save still images from a video footage directly on the camera.

The new a6500 offers a refined design and adapts much of the functions of Sony's a7 II series while maintaining the mobility of the a6000 series. Like its predecessors, the camera is Wi-Fi, QR and NFC compatible. It is also fully compatible with the Sony PlayMemories Mobile app that's available for iOS and Android users.
