Video-on-demand service, HOOQ launches in the Philippines

Asia's newest video-on-demand service launches first in the country in partnership with Globe Telecom.

Movie buffs and couch potatoes, rejoice! You can now binge watch movies and TV series all you want with HOOQ.

HOOQ, is the newest video-on-demand (VoD) service in Asia. It's a joint venture between Singtel, Sony Pictures Television, and Warner Bros. Entertainment. It allows users to enjoy unlimited access to over 10,000 movies and TV shows on any device, anytime, anywhere.

Aside from Hollywood movies like The Dark Knight Rises, Spider-Man, Inception, and hit US TV series like Breaking Bad, FRIENDS, and Smallville, users will also be able to enjoy a lot of local content. Joining HOOQ are the country's top studios such as ABS-CBN, GMA, Viva Communications, and Regal Entertainment. So expect to see some of these studios' top-rating teleserye and movies on HOOQ's catalogue.

The VoD service is launching first in the Philippines in partnership with Globe Telecom. It will be available for a monthly subscription fee of P199 and will also be bundled with Globe’s GoSURF and Tattoo broadband services. The service will also be accessible to all customers through its website where they can pay for the subscription fee by credit card.
