The Big Bad Wolf's (BBW) latest hunting ground for book lovers has been revealed! Cabalens, Northern folks, and even readers from the Metro who just couldn’t resist the clawing impulse to hoard books, prepare your pockets because the biggest book sale in the world is coming to Pampanga this July!
Happening on July 12 to 22, the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale will be open for 24 hours at the LausGroup Event Centre in San Fernando, and entrance is completely FREE!
Expect brand-new books with 50% to 90% discount from a wide selection of genres: young adult fiction, romance, science fiction, crime thriller, business, self-help, architecture, design, cooking, children’s fiction, and activity books, among others.
“We are looking forward to expanding the reach of the Book Sale to more provinces in the Philippines so we can encourage more people to read hence why we are organising the Book Sale for the first time at Pampanga,” says Jacqueline Ng, Co-Founder of Big Bad Wolf Books at a press conference held on June 26.
“By making brand new affordable English books more accessible, especially to underserved communities, we will be able to cultivate a generation of readers that can help drive the country forward,” Ng added.
More immersive AR books for the children.
After introducing the augmented reality (AR) children’s books last February at the Big Bad Wolf Book Sale Manila, parents are sure in for a treat with the six new titles they could get their children, including “Old MacDonald Had a Farm,” “The Wheels on the Bus,” “Little Bear’s Big Adventure,” and more! With the help of the app Hippo Magic, the physical books come alive with activities and songs from 3D characters that go straight out of the pages.
Giving back to the community.
With the partnership between the Big Bad Wolf’s CSR arm, Red Readerhood, and Gawad Kalinga (GK), a total of 6838 books have already been donated to GK partner communities this 2019. This time around, GK also extends the goodwill by sharing with other local foundations. Meanwhile, BBW-goers can also take part by purchasing a book from the Red Readerhood booth at the sale.
