This movie made me into a fan of Paul Soriano. It made me want to go to Siargao, made me miss the beach. It made me wanna travel, and maybe even vlog about it. It made me wanna try surfing again. It was just absolutely, unbelievably beautiful.
Truthfully, the story dragged a little. Although that seems to be the norm by indie film standards anyway, so it wasn’t that big of an issue. (Not a connoisseur here, so I really wouldn’t know.) The slow-paced story is the only flaw to what would’ve otherwise been a perfect movie. Because really, everything else was amazing, and more t... Read more
Seriously enjoyable movie. I cannot even fault anything in it. From the acting to the story, everything was just right.
I don’t really get how the rating of this movie isn’t any higher because I thought it was fantastic. What a great year for Philippine cinema. This movie felt a little bit like an indie movie. It’s not your typical Star Cinema rom-com. It gets a solid 4 rating for me for sure, if not more.
The cinematography is absolutely beautiful, and it showed our city in such beautiful, picturesque light. Although sometimes I got confused with the timeline. It felt like the movie was set in the seventies from the beginning. I think maybe it needed more modern touches to make it seem like ... Read more
I give this a 2.5 rating. It wasn’t particularly bad, I just think everything felt a little bit half-baked. The token characters, the predictable storyline, everything felt a little bit flat and was kind of meh.
With lowered, kid-level standards, it was surprisingly okay and pretty tolerable even for grown ups.
It’s really an enjoyable movie, although it doesn’t offer anything fresh. I think I prefer the first movie. Still, really enjoyable.
It was such a nice movie. Seriously.
It's greatness is a little bit overrated in my opinion, but it was still certainly an enjoyable watch.
The fight scenes were cinematic. Story-wise, I felt there was room for improvement still, but it had a nice pace to it. The comedic moments peppered in between were a nice touch.
Gal Gadot, I thought seemed too modelesque at first to play the iconic Amazonian princess, but she definitely proved me wrong. She had just enough of that bright-eyed wonder a woman of strong, unbiased, simplistic ideals would have if thrust into a (then) modern world, to be believable. She ... Read more
It was pretty decent. I thought the first one was better, but overall, in spite of some moments that dragged, it still managed to entertain.
Let me preface this by saying on one hand, it wasn't completely awful that it failed to make me feel good after leaving the cinema. By all means, it was a decent enough film. But on the other hand, this movie fails in a lot of other aspects too.
Problems with acting aside (although personally I found Jodi a joy to watch), I think one of the movie's biggest problems was in the cinematography, in that it just wasn't very good. For a movie about travel and that actually had foreign location shots, this movie did not invoke a sense of wanderlust within me, which is such a missed oppo... Read more
