The award-winning drama by American playwright Tony Kushner, Angels in America: Millennium Approaches is set to take stage here in the country with its characters to be played by our local versatile actors.
Set in a 1980's New York, Angels in America tells a compelling tale about homosexuality, the AIDS virus, and drugs. It weaves together the characters of Prior Walter, Louis Ironson, Joe Pitt and Roy Cohn who are all homosexuals going under different circumstances made more complicated by AIDS. Other characters include the ghost of Ethel Rosenberg, the ex-drag queen Belize, Joe's valium-addicted wife Harper Pitt and disapproving mother Hannah, and the Angel.
We had a chat with four of the main cast, Topper Fabregas, Art Acuña, Pinky Amador, and Nelsito Gomez about the production, its strengths, social relevance, and more!
