A Christmas Prince centers on an aspiring young journalist named Amber who's sent abroad to spy on the handsome prince poised to be king, but ends up falling in love with him.

In an email interview we had with Rose McIver, who plays Amber in the film, she said that getting into her character wasn't hard. "Amber is the anti-princess. She's very casual and very lo-fi on the glamore and societal fronts, so it wasn't a stretch," she said. McIver also said that she's really excited for the audience to see her bow and arrow skills in the film.

Some of the cast from the first film will also be coming back for the sequel. This includes Ben Lamb, Tom Knight, Sarah Douglas, Alice Krige, and more. When asked how it's like to work with the same cast from the first film, McIver said, "[It was] Brilliant. We laugh our heads off.  [It] was so nice to get to see them all again."

Aside from playing the journalist-turned-princess Amber in the 2 A Christmas Prince films, you may also have seen McIver in shows like Once Upon A Time where she played Tinkerbell and iZombie where she played the main character, Liv Moore. Asked what other roles she would like to play next, McIver said, "I love working as an actor because of the variety. So as long as I get to keep exploring different characters, I’m very happy. I wouldn’t want to get trapped in any one character forever."

With all the romance and the comedy in the film, A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding is quickly becoming one of everyone's guilty pleasure of a holiday film especially for those who just want something lighthearted. "Whether you want to escape into a fairytale or pick apart its genre shortcomings, it's entertaining and we all crave that, McIver said.
