Daniel Padilla together with husband and wife Ricco Ocampo and Tina Ocampo, co-owners of i2i New York, launched their newest collection featuring hip and on-trend yet affordable sunglasses greatly inspired by the music influences and other Hollywood idols of the young actor.
Sticking to the company's promise of delivering high-quality yet inexpensive eyewear, the DJP Collection is priced from P370 to P460 only. i2i New York shares that they used specific materials to make each pair lightweight, hypo-allergenic and highly impact-resistant. The sunglasses also features optically clear frames and its lenses underwent UV treatment making sure their customers are protected from harmful rays of the sun.
We got to sit down with Daniel Padilla at the launch of i2i New York's DJP collection where he shared which his favorite style in the collection is, what he is currently listening to and more! Read the complete interview below:
Do you have any travel plans fo the year that you would want to bring your DJP sunglasses to?
Daniel Padilla: Well, hindi ko pa masabi kasi on going pa yung teleserye natin tapos after the serye may alis kami ni Kathryn. We're going to America kasi may show kami dun tapos pag balik, it's my birthday so it's time to celebrate kasi tapos na rin yung La Luna Sangre by that time so pahinga muna nang konti tapos movie na.
What's your favorite in the DJP collection?
Daniel Padilla: Favorite ko ito kasi simple lang pero sobrang astig ng shape ng shades na 'to. Parang ganyan tayo e, simple lang pero may dating. *laughs* Ako naman kasi, simplicity is the best, pero siyempre depende pa rin sa tao kung ano ang trip mo.
Why do you think people should buy your collection?
Daniel Padilla: Ayaw ko naman sabihin na kailangan nilang bilhin. Ang akin lang, napaka affordable niya, maganda yung quality at design para sa presyo niya. Yan yung maganda sa i2i e kasi si Ms. Tina, hindi naman siya more on dun sa business side. Ang goal lang talaga namin is ma-share ito sa mas malaking market. Yun naman hindi parang bilhin niyo ito, mas gusto naman na tingnan niyo ito at kayo na bahala kung gusto ninyo.
What are the three things you can't leave the house with?
Daniel Padilla: Sunglasses, jacket and perfume.
So, I know that you love music. What's on your playlist?
Daniel Padilla: Oh, yes. Music is life! It's my life. IV of Spades, The Cure, Pearl Jam, Standard Music, Nat King Cole, Foster The People, U2 and classics.

Daniel Padilla: Black Mirror!
Favorite episode?
Daniel Padilla: Hang The DJ! Black Mirror talaga trip ko ngayon. Tsaka napanuod niyo na ba yung Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee? Jerry Seinfeld? Nanunundo sila ng mga comedian tapos magco-coffee lang sila. Galing! Parang moving na talk show. Magdadala lang si Jerry Seinfeld ng kotse, kasi car enthusiast siya, tapos dadala siya ng kotse na feeling niyang bagay dun sa comedian tapos susunduin niya. First guest niya si Jim Carrey.
Aside from District8, what are your other go-to restaurants here in Manila?
Daniel Padilla: Hindi ako lumalabas talaga pero anything na Japanese food. Kung pwede akong tumira sa Japan, titira ako dun. Ang lupit kasi hindi lang yung lugar, idol ko yung mga tao dun. Iba sila, ang gagaling nila. Masyado lang silang workaholic pero they know how to have fun.
Who's your style icon? Local and international?
Daniel Padilla: International na lang. Gusto ko si Johnny Depp! Sino pang mga trip ko pa? Steve McQueen, gusto ko siya pumorma tsaka exciting yung buhay niya eh. Hollywood star siya tapos karerista siya na gumagawa ng sarling stunts.
