Here are the Most-Streamed K-Pop Artists on Spotify This 2020

Today, Spotify unveils the top K-Pop artists, songs and albums globally that defined how millions of people around the world listened and discovered K-Pop in 2020. 

With more than 5 billion streams this year, BTS is the most-streamed group globally and the top K-Pop artist on Spotify in 2020. Their first all-English single, “Dynamite” released in September is the year’s most-streamed K-Pop song. The track set a new record on Spotify this year, achieving 12.6 million streams in the first 24 hours. The most streamed K-Pop album of the year is also BTS’ MAP OF THE SOUL : 7. 

The second most-streamed K-Pop artist of the year is BLACKPINK. With more than 300 million streams to date, BLACKPINK’s “How You Like That” is also the second most-streamed song of the year. Clearly, listeners like it a lot. 

Breakout K-Pop artists TREASURE, AleXa and BIBI are also ones to watch as they were some of the most-streamed artists on Spotify’s RADAR Korea playlist that features all the must-know tracks from bubbling Korean artists across a spectrum of genres. The playlist is part of RADAR, Spotify’s global emerging artist program that launched earlier this year. 

For the first time, Spotify is also revealing the top tracks across a variety of Korean genres that have piqued global listeners’ interests.

The most-streamed Korean OST this year is “Sweet Night” by V from the soundtrack of ‘Itaewon Class’. The drama’s upbeat “시작” by Gaho also comes in as the third most-streamed Korean OST. Rounding out the top three is “Stay With Me” by CHANYEOL and Punch, the closing theme of ‘Guardian: The Lonely and Great God’. As people around the world stayed indoors, many turned to Korean Dramas as a source of entertainment and comfort. In fact, streaming of Spotify’s flagship Korean OSTs playlist peaked in March this year.
