What We're Listening To This Week

ClickTheCity Faves: What We’re Listening To This Week

Whether you love listening to fine tunes while working or just want to put your mind off things for a bit, jamming to a track or learning new things through a podcast is just the way to go these days. While we work at home and try to give you the latest updates #AroundTheCityOnline, we stream songs and podcasts to stay calm, cool and collected.

Want to discover what we’re listening to right now? Then keep tabs on this weekly rundown where we hand-pick some of our favorite songs and podcasts to share with the ClickTheCity community!

Race Chaser with Willam and Alaska 5000 | Listen on Spotify

Drag royalties Willam and Alaska 5000 hosts this fun and very entertaining podcast wherein they summarize episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race, from past to present. They sometimes have Drag Race alumni as guests to spill some tea about the season that they were in. They also have a day that they upload an episode once a week called Hot Goss, where gossip about anything, talk about politics, and take a deep dive into their DMs to read messages from their fans. Warning because the show is not for kids most of the time but if you’re a fan of Drag Race, this is a must listen.

Dedicated Side B by Carly Rae Jepsen

After a number of teasers, the Canadian singer-songwriter releases a surprise new album. Dedicated Side B is supposed to be a companion to her 2019 album. She originally wrote more than 200 songs for Dedicated so Side B is surely an extension of that hit album. A personal favorite is the 80s-inspired opening track “This Love Isn’t Crazy.” The track will make you dance in your room. This is definitely an album you want to bop to while in quarantine!

Japanese City Pop Playlist | Listen on Spotify

One of my favorite discoveries in the last couple of weeks is this Japanese City Pop playlist created by one user. The songs all have a jazzy and retro feel to it, probably because all the songs were released 1 or 2 decades ago, when these sounds were the trend for everyone. It’s a good playlist to listen to if you want something that’s relaxing and that will help you focus more on tasks you need to do.

Dictators | Listen on Spotify

The Dictators podcast is basically a true crime podcast with a much-larger scale. Of course, we’re familiar with dictators and how they use their power to gain complete control over a country, but in this podcast, we are given in-depth insights on the minds and motives of the world’s most infamous leaders. They tackle the life of these dictators, from their small beginnings to their rise to power and of course, to their ultimate downfall.
