Sarah Geronimo goes to 'The Other Side'

At at only 17, Sarah Geronimo already has three multi-platinum albums to her name. As another feather in her cap, the talented singer will hold her first solo concert at the Araneta Coliseum. Indeed, September 30, 2005 will be a very big day for Sarah Geronimo.

Entitled The Other Side, the special, one-night-only concert will feature Sarah with her favorite “kuya” Mark Bautista and Piolo Pascual. As the concert’s title indicates, it will showcase “the other side” of this popular young artist, who is an inspiration and role model for other young people who dare to dream big, just like she has.

There will also be a second show on October 15, 8 p.m. at the Waterfront Hotel, in Lahug, Cebu City. This will give Sarah’s Cebuano fans the chance to finally see her perform her hit songs like Forever’s Not Enough, Can This Be Love and I Wanna Know What Love Is live and up close!

Tickets to the September 30 concert are now available from at SM Ticketnet outlets and the Araneta Coliseum box-office and are priced at P1,500 (patron A and B), P1,000 (lower box), P500 (Upper Box A), P250 (Upper Box B) and P150 (General Admission).

The show was a long time coming. Sarah has performed at the Araneta before, although it was with her fellow champions in Night of the Champions and Pinoy Idols: Battle of the Popstars. This time, the spotlight will be entirely hers.

Is she nervous? While admitting that she is a bit intimidated by the thought of doing a solo concert in the biggest indoor venue in the land, she is more than ready to stand up to the challenge.

“Matagal ko na rin po kasing pinapangarap na magka-solo concert doon,” says Sarah. “Feeling ko kasi, doon ko lang matatawag ang sarili ko na isang tunay na concert artist, kapag nakapag-solo na ako sa Araneta.”

This will be the biggest challenge the 17-year-old will face in her career. But if there’s anyone who can pull it off, it’s Sarah.

Her achievements speak for themselves: a triple platinum award for the Star For A Night album; a quintuple platinum award for her debut solo recording, entitled Popstar, and a double platinum for her latest release, Sweet Sixteen, which contains her latest single, the revival of I Wanna Know What Love Is. She also has several number one singles to her credit, including To Love You More, Forever’s Not Enough, Sa Iyo, How Could You Say You Love Me, and Can This Be Love.

Sarah also copped an impressive four nominations in the MTV Pilipinas 2004 awards race and another four in the 17th Awit Awards. She won for Best Performance by a New Female Recording Artist and Best Dance Recording for Sa Iyo.

So on September 30, come and watch the biggest star shine on the biggest night of her life. Get your tickets now!
