Finally had the chance to catch "Just A Stranger" before it gets pulled out from the theaters to give way to the Pista ng Pelikulang Pilipino entries this week.
This movie tackling May-December cheating partners is a beautiful disaster. The color palette and shots in Lisbon is probably Laxamana's best cinematography while the characters could've been fleshed out more to give depth and impact on the subplots, sayang sila Edu and Cherie. Medyo hilaw pa si Gumabao, in fairness umaakting din yung muscles nya sa dami nang eksenang nakahubad. Hahah! Anne had 3 breakdown scenes here, not her best, but the most memorable one was at the ending. I enjoyed that monologue as it was something really unpredictable. Until you hit the last part at masasabi mo na lang na, "Ah yun pala yown!"
Lacks substance and unconvincing.
Typical story. The male leads acting is disappointing.
nice story concept. fails in execution.
I could not agree more with the reviewer who mentioned this movie as contrived and hollow. Pinilit maging original or at least mag mukang original kahit obvious naman na may mga nauna nang ganitong tema. Trying to look like a May-December affair then filmed in an expensive location-which is very cliche in many pinoy romantic movies.
The story is very realistic and brutally honest so it's relatable. Both Anne Curtis and Marco Gumabao performed very well. Love is so beautiful and can also be tragic in reality. I super loved it
