I've seen Seklusiyon, Sunday Beauty Queen, Septic Tank 2, and Saving Sally is the best among all the MMFF movies I've seen. Simply great! Entertaining! You leave the theater happy.
Future of Filipino animated movies. Award-winning but it is just "bitin". I loved the "Sandara Park and TukMall" concept for a place. But the film is very refreshing and mind-boggling. Definitely a MUST-WATCH!
The future of Philippine animation.
one word to describe this movie - REFRESHING! ... i so love the monsters...hahahahah... small humors like Sandara PARK and Tuk MALL... hahahaha... not everyone will appreciate the style that was used on this movie but for me it was really cool in the eyes... a breath of fresh air kumbaga... combining animation and live action... i so love the scene when Sally learned about Martys feelings for her nung accidentally nakita nia ung mga drawings na nakapaskil sa wall.... for me it is a good movie depende pa din sa panlasa ng nanunuod.... i recommend it... must watch! ;-D
Sure, we can dismiss the plot as cliche, contrived, and formulaic -- but that is refusing to take into account the animated enhancement to realize it as a truly human experience. There are few films in the live-action animated genre that I have seen to be done this well. If done wrong, it is a mess of cartoon characters mashed with big real life figures. If done right, it is a commentary on one's psyche, blurring the line between reality and fantasy in what is a true perception of the world.
One must not look further to see that this film brings forth a reinvigorated fervor for the potential that Filipino animation has. Bright and colorful contrasted with the gloomy and dark -- these visuals and striking lines create the surreal environment so essential to animation. It captures the childlike wonder of the world in our context -- with the hope that we may continue to have.
Saving Sally "A very Typical love story" as what posters say and its True so Don't expect a very much complicated nor extraordinary story line. But in spite of its simple story its a Very Refreshing film to see for a MMFF entry the 12 years in the making of a Home Based Production of just few individuals, its a stepping stone for Pinoy Artist and Filmmakers to be recognized internationally. I recommend this film to the kids at heart and as well as those who are not, Yes the may film lack a deeper story which I hope next time will be more deeper, some drawing scenes also seems to be an adopted version to some Disney Cartoon Films which must be also eliminated to prevent a Gaya Gaya Pinoy attitude and Finally I hope next time the language will be in Pure Tagalog just put some Subtitle in English if you have plans to show it abroad. A Pure Tagalog Language used in this Film will surely put an extra kick to Saving Sally. I am looking forward soon for a Pure Pinoy Produce 3D Film for MMFF. I am giving Saving Sally a 4 Stars for its Fresh Start and for the 12 years Home Based Film Making.
I had high expectations going in but I left the movie house wanting. Sure, it's different. But it's boring. The storyline is very basic and the acting is mediocre at best.
boring!! nakakainis!!! at sayang sa oras!!! ang pangit ng movie and the actor sucks!!
