I gave it a Perfect 5/5 here's why. The Lowest Score you can give here in ClickTheCity is 1/5. So by default Godzilla already has 1. So I only need 4 reasons to give it a perfect 5! To be honest yes most of the movie is kaiju/monster fight scenes.. because IT IS about a giant monster named GODZILLA. You dont watch Godzilla to see people. Kung gusto mo maka kita ng madaming tao, pumunta ka QUIAPO. Back to the movie, this is the second installment of the new Godzilla movie series. So yes there is very LITTLE Character Development. So if you haven't seen the FIRST GODZILLA movie, you won't be able to appreciate it as much. But for someone like me who watched and loved the first movie, Godzilla 2 hits the right spot! Walang pagkukulang sa monster fight scenes because again you watch Godzilla to see giant monsters fight. But what makes this movie good is because the story also makes sense. The government wants to get rid of all the monsters, because sino ba naman hindi matatakot sa mga higante? ipis palang takot na tayo, yung higanteng IPIS pa kaya? Tapos syempre yung Scientists (being scientists) they want to preserve and study the giant monsters because why not? Kaya nga sila naging scientists, they want to study and discover things! Plot Twist, I wont give out spoilers but the plot twist is also good. May HUGOT yung leading lady, sa dahilan bakit niya ginawa yung ginawa niya sa movie. At madami pwede maka relate sa dahilan niya. (she lost a relative, hindi ito spoiler kasi sa previous movie nangyari ito). Ikukumpara ko ito sa Transformers 4 , T5 at Pacific Rim 2! Those movies are also full of amazing visual effects, but greatly lacks a good story. Puro Effects lang pero "WALEY" ang istorya. Maganda ang directing ng monster fight scenes mixed with scenes showing the lead characters running right below the monsters. It really felt like you are with them, ganda ng Point of View experience. Worth it watching on the big screen/cinema! so eto na nga, PRANGKAHAN TAYO! Maganda ang GODZILLA 2 kung napanood mo ang GODZILLA 1. Pinag isipan ang Visual Effects, at ang story may sense kahit papano. Oo hindi perfect ang movie na ito but when compared to its recent rivals like Pacific Rim 2 and Transformers 5, Godzilla truly shines and that's why I gave it a 5/5. Kung hindi mo napanood Godzilla 1, panoorin mo muna para ma-appreciate mo itong Part 2. Most of all since the back-story of the leading characters were told in the first movie. Parang AVENGERS, kung ENDGAME lang pinanood mo, hindi mo kilala yun characters, hindi ka talaga matutuwa. P.S. MAY EXTRA SCENE sa DULO! So make sure you wait until the very end of the credits! :) it's worth the wait! And yes there will be a GODZILLA 3, and its coming out next year!
