Atticus Shaffer

Atticus R. Shaffer (born June 19, 1998) is an American actor, known for portraying Matty Newton in the 2009 supernatural horror-thriller film The Unborn, and Brick Heck in the ABC sitcom The Middle. --- Shaffer was born in Santa Clarita, California, to Debbie and Ron Shaffer, with whom he lives. He is home-schooled. Shaffer has Osteogenesis Imperfecta, type IV, a genetic condition inherited from his mother, who has type I. His small stature from this condition helps him portray a character on The Middle, four years younger than his actual age.
