Matthew Settle

Jeffrey Matthew Settle (born September 17, 1969), better known as Matthew Settle, is an American actor best known for playing Captain Ronald Speirs on the HBO show Band of Brothers and Rufus Humphrey on Gossip Girl. --- Settle was born in Hickory, North Carolina, the son of Joan and Dr. Robert Settle, who is a Baptist minister. He is the youngest of six children, having two sisters and three brothers. Settle made his Broadway debut in a strictly limited engagement in Chicago: The Musical, appearing as Billy Flynn from April 19 through June 13, 2010. He also had a guest appearance on Law and Order SVU in Season 7 as a reporter in the episode Storm. Settle can also be seen as Rufus Humphrey on the CW show Gossip Girl, in which he is the father of Dan and Jenny, two of the main characters. Other past roles include his portrayal of Capt.Ronald Speirs in the HBO mini-series Band of Brothers. He also played the part of John in the film Beneath. --- In 2007, Settle revealed that in 2006, at age 37, he had eloped to marry actress/model Naama Nativ, with whom he has a daughter, Aven Angelica born in 2009. The couple was divorced 10 May 2011.
