Finn Wolfhard (born 23 December 2002) is a Canadian actor and voice actor. He is best known for his starring role as Mike Wheeler in the Netflix series Stranger Things. Early life Wolfhard was born in Vancouver, Canada to a family of French, German and Jewish descent. His father is a screenwriter and does research on aboriginal land claims. He has one older brother, Nick Wolfhard, who is a voice actor. As of 2016, he attends a Catholic school in Vancouver. Career Wolfhard got his first acting job from Craigslist. He made his television debut as Zoran in The 100, followed by a role as Jordie Pinsky in Supernatural. In 2016, Wolfhard came to worldwide prominence as Mike Wheeler in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. He auditioned for the role via video, while sick in bed, after seeing an open casting call. The role earned him, along with the rest of the cast, a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. He will play Richie Tozier in the film adaptation of Stephen King's It, which is set to release on 8 September 2017. In the Netflix animated series Carmen Sandiego, he will voice "Player", the titular character’s chief accomplice and friend. The series, consisting of twenty 22-minute episodes, is due to premiere in 2019. Wolfhard is also known for his appearances in multiple music videos, including Canadian punk rock band PUP's "Guilt Trip" (2014) and "Sleep in the Heat" (2016). He also co-directed and appeared in Spendtime Palace's music video Sonora in 2017.
