The Jungle Book

A towering visual and technical achievement that has heart to spare. Rare are the family movies nowadays that generate genuine suspense and riveting adventure but Disney's Jungle Book pulls it off. Excellent work from Jon Favreau to turn this property into such an emotionally complete film. The choice to make the voice acting nuanced (and almost achingly human) and not cartoonish, as films of this ilk tend to be, add greater heft and character to these animals that benefit the film surprisingly.
