In the upcoming film, the annual Purge has already been abolished. But it looks like some people’s thirst for blood would never run out as a group of masked outlaws in Texas refuse to give up their right to Purge.
The dystopian horror franchise has been around since 2013, and has explored different stories that center on the Purge– an annual 12-hour event where all crimes are deemed legal, including murder. This event begins with the iconic blaring of the siren and the government’s broadcast announcement.
The Purge franchise was created by James DeMonaco. Everardo Gout is the director for the fifth film with a screenplay from DeMonaco. It is set for release on July 2.
