Walt Disney has finally dropped the official teaser to Steven Spielberg’s upcoming reimagination of West Side Story! The movie stars Ansel Elgort and Rachel Zegler and will premiere in Philippine cinemas soon.

West Side Story takes inspiration from the William Shakespeare classic, Romeo and Juliet, and tells the story of two rival gangs — the Jets and the Sharks. Amidst the clashes between the two groups, a romance forms between a Jet named Tony and a Shark named Maria.
The film is based on the 1957 musical of the same name, with a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim.
Steven Spielberg directs the film, with a screenplay from Tony Kushner. Some of the other names playing a part in the film are Tony Award winner Justin Peck, who will be choreographing the film’s musical numbers, while Grammy Award winner Gustavo Dudamel heads the recording of the film’s score.
The film stars Ansel Elgort as Tony and Rachel Zegler as Maria. Joining them are Ariana DeBose, David Alvarez, Mike Faist, Rita Moreno, Brian d’Arcy James, and more.
