Marvel Studios’ Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings drops its first trailer and poster just in time for actor Simu Liu’s birthday!
Liu plays the film’s lead character Shang-Chi, a master of martial arts and the latest hero to arrive in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Check out the action-packed trailer for the upcoming film below:
In the film, Shang-Chi will have to face the mysterious Ten Rings organization and its leader, the Mandarin. A popular villain in the comics, the Mandarin was thought to be the big bad in Iron Man 3, but the person Tony Stark came face-to-face with turned out to be a fraud. In Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings, however, the new hero will be facing the real deal.
Aside from the trailer, the actor also debuted the first teaser poster through social media.
Joining Simu Liu are stars Awkwafina, Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, and Michelle Yeoh. It is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.
Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings is set to hit theaters on September 3 this year. It is the second MCU film slated for a release this year, following Black Widow‘s May 7 release date.
