Former James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan is joining DC’s upcoming Black Adam film as the Justice Society’s Doctor Fate, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
After Zack Snyder’s Justice League, another superhero team surfaces in this upcoming film that stars Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson as the eponymous anti-hero. The movie will feature the Justice Society, DC’s precursor to the Justice League, which will round up heroes such as Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Cyclone, and Doctor Fate.
Brosnan plays Kent Nelson, the son of an archaeologist who has studied sorcery and received the immense power of the magical Helmet of Fate.
Details are scarce about the film’s plot, but those who are familiar to DC’s Black Adam know that the villain is the archrival of Shazam, who also got his own film starring Zachary Levi back in 2019. With both films being under New Line Cinema and Warner Bros., the two characters are sure to clash in the future.
Also part of the Black Adam cast are Noah Centineo (Atom Smasher), Ā Aldis Hodge (Hawkman), andĀ Quintessa Swindell (Cyclone). Jaume Collet-Serra is directing the film which is set for release on December this year.
