90s kids, we’re getting a new Doraemon film soon, and it will definitely bring back the feels and the good memories of our childhood! Stand By Me Doraemon 2, is the follow-up to the 2014 film Stand By Me Doraemon, and it will be showing our ship, Nobita and Shizuka, finally tying the knot!

Stand By Me Doraemon 2 is a 3D computer-animated movie based on the manga series of the same name. It follows Nobita who continues his journey from the first film, trying to change the future and getting Shizuka to agree to marry him.

In the film, Nobita goes back in time to meet his grandmother whose great desire is for her to meet Nobita’s future bride. Future Nobita, on the other hand, is about to marry Shizuka when he gets a panic attack. He goes back in time to see Doraemon again, and it’s with him that he confides his fear of not being the right person for Shizuka.

The film comes from directors RyÅ«ichi Yagi and Takashi Yamazaki. It is based on the 2002 shorts films entitled Doraemon: A grandmother’s Recollections and The Day When I Was Born. Ā It also marks the the 50th anniversary of the Doraemon franchise, which was first published in 1970.

Stand By Me Doraemon 2 premiered in Japan back in November 2020. Meanwhile, there has been no announcement yet as to when the film will be premiering in the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Indonesia.
