Anya Taylor-Joy reunites with director Robert Eggers for the upcoming film The Northman. The actress will be joined by stars Alexander Skarsgård, Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, Ethan Hawke, and Bjork.
“I am so proud to be part of this project,” says Taylor-Joy in an interview with Collider. “Every moment on set I’m proud, and I think we will be presenting the world with something it genuinely has not seen before. I just feel so genuinely humbled to be part of it.”

Taylor-Joy worked on Eggers’ 2015 horror flick Witch. She shared in the same interview that she had been friends with the director even before that film. “We made The Witch [kind of] thinking that no one’s ever gonna see it. And so the fact that we’re making a ‘Robert Eggers movie’ is now a thing, we’re both just like– it is amazing!”
Willem Dafoe also starred in Eggers’ recent film The Lighthouse alongside Robert Pattinson. Meanwhile, Anya Taylor-Joy’s new Netflix series, The Queen’s Gambit continues to garner positive reviews.
The Northman is a revenge film featuring a Viking prince who is bent on taking revenge for the death of his father. Viewers can expect the film to be dark and disturbing like Eggers’ other two films.
More details about the film are yet to be revealed.
