A soft-reboot with different actors, The Girl in the Spider's Web is a sequel to David Fincher's The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, and the second installment in the American-produced Millennium film series.
The film follows young computer hacker Lisbeth Salander and journalist Mikael Blomkvist find themselves caught in a web of spies, cybercriminals and corrupt government officials.

Directed by Fede Álvarez and written by Steven Knight, Álvarez and Jay Basu, it is based on the novel of the same name by David Lagercrantz. It stars Claire Foy, Sverrir Gudnason, LaKeith Stanfield, Sylvia Hoeks and Stephen Merchant.
