The Japan Film Week is going online this July!

Happening from July 22 to July 26, 2020, the Japan Foundation in Manila will be screening 6 unique Japanese films of different genres as their way to encourage Filipinos to expand their knowledge on Japan’s arts, culture, and language.

Japan Film Week is organized by the Japan Foundation in Manila in partnership with Solar Pictures, Inc., Sinag Maynila, and the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Here are 6 films streaming for the week-long online event:

1. Bittersweet (Nigakute Amai)
Directed by: Shôgo Kusano

2. The Takatsu River (Taktsugawa)
Directed by: Nishinori Yoshinari

3. Chieri and Chierry (Chieri to Cherry)
Directed by: Makoto Nakamura

4. From All Corners (Tabisuru Danboru)
Directed by: Ryusuke Okajima

5. Hana’s Miso Soup (Hanachan no Misoshiru)
Directed by: Tomoaki Akune, Nobuo Mizuta

6. What’s for Dinner, Mom? (Mama Gohan Mada?)
Directed by: Mitsuhito Shiraha

The film screening will be on a first-come, first-served basis, depending on Vimeo’s viewer limit. Users can access the films via this link after they create their own Vimeo account using the access code given.
