The first trailer featuring the Jellicles of the upcoming fantasy-musical film Cats has finally debuted today at the San Diego Comic-Con! The film, directed by Tom Hooper, is set to premiere in US cinemas this December.
The trailer features the song 'Memory', as it gives the audience a glimpse of just how grand the upcoming film adaptation is, as well as the star-studded cast which will be giving life to the members of the Jellicles tribe.

A film based on the musical of the same name by Andrew Lloyd Webber, Cats follows the Jellicles who gather at the Jellicle Boy with their leader Old Deuteronomy to decide who will be going up to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life.
The film is directed by Tom Hooper (Les Miserables, The Kings Speech), and will be featuring the iconic music of Lloyd Webber, accompanied by the choreography of Andy Blankenbuehler (Hamilton, In the Heights). The star-studded cast includes Judy Dench who plays Old Deuteronomy, Jennifer Hudson as Grizabella, Francesca Hayward, Ian McKellen, Jason Derulo, Idris Elba, Rebel Wilson, Taylor Swift, James Corden, and more.
The original theater production for Cats is known to be one of the longest-running shows in Broadway and West End and has received numerous awards since. This includes Best Musical, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score at the 1983 Tony Awards.
Cats is set to open in US cinemas this December. However, no official date has been announced yet as to when the film will be screening in the Philippines.
