The local reality TV show duo are back together in film, as Kings of Reality Shows: Ariel and Maverick hits select theaters this November 27!
Kings of Reality Shows is a film put together by the one-man team of Ariel Villasanta, who was the film's producer, director, editor, writer, and lead star (with Maverick Relova), composed of footages from a nearly-forgotten film that he worked on together with his partner 10 years ago.
Check out the film's trailer below:
Kings of Reality Shows follows Ariel, the other half of the now-defunct reality comedy duo, in his impossible journey to finish and produce the shelved film project that he and Maverick shot in the US years ago. The film takes back the viewers to year 2008 during the peak of the duo's careers. Feeling stifled by the local showbiz industry, the two would take their shot to stardom in Hollywood, and in their misadventures abroad, the film promises to show us the real cost of making it big in this industry.
The film also includes special guest appearances of Mayor Sara Duterte, Senator Trillanes, Senator Manny Pacquiao, Mayor Isko Moreno, Cong. Strike Revilla and Chaye Cabal–Revilla, Raffy Tulfo, Mocha Uson, Joey de Leon, Coco Martin, Regine Tolentino, Jose Manalo, Empoy, Jasmine Trias, Cristina Decena, and the late Mr. Eddie Garcia and Mr. German Moreno. Kings of Reality Shows is lovingly dedicated to Ariel's late mother, Elvira Ramos Villasanta, also known as Mommy Elvie in the TV shows Mommy Elvie's Problematic Show and Mommy Elvie @ 18.
The film is produced by Lion’s Faith Entertainment and exclusivley distributed by Solar Pictures. It is up for screening starting November 27.
