WATCH: ‘Wonder Woman 1984’ First Trailer Brings Back Chris Pine

Wonder Woman Diana Prince gets reunited with the World War I pilot Steve Trevor in the first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984!

Gal Gadot swings on lightning strikes in the first trailer for Wonder Woman 1984!

Two years ago, we watched Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman end the first World War. Next year, we’re going to see her again living her life in the year 1984, and interestingly, Steve Trevor is joining her in the ’80s.

Check out the film’s trailer below:

Back in 2016, we finally got to see Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman up on the big screen as she debuted in the film Batman V Superman. Being one of the key characters for the DC Extended Universe (DCEU), Wonder Woman also took part in the 2017 Justice League film before getting her standalone film the same year.

The first Wonder Woman film was set during World War I where the Amazonian Princess Diana first met the US pilot Steve Trevor, played by Chris Pines. The film had a (spoiler alert!) tragic end for the two with Steve sacrificing himself in a plane explosion. But lo and behold, Steve is back in 1984 and just like Diana, he hadn’t aged a bit.

The reason behind Steve’s return has not yet been revealed. In the trailer, Steve seems to be clueless about the present world, so we can only assume that time had somehow stopped for him since the first World War. Diana showing him around that 1984 setting is even quite reminiscient of how Steve guided her in the world outside the Amazon.

As for the main villains, Wonder Woman 1984 will pin the superhero against The Cheetah and Max Lord. Also featured in the trailer is Wonder Woman’s epic new armor of gold which was earlier revealed in the film’s first poster.

The sequel to Wonder Woman is once again helmed by director Patty Jenkins. The film is set for a Philippine release next year, June 4.
