ABS-CBN’s Teen King and Queen Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo continues to level up their unbeatable blockbuster tandem as they return to the big screen in Star Cinema’s latest offering, Crazy Beautiful You.
Directed by Mae Cruz-Alviar, who directed 2014’s Bride For Rent, and with a script written by Maan Dimaculangan-Fampulme, Jancy Nicolas, Bianca Bernardino, and Carmi Raymundo, who wrote 2014’s smash hit Starting Over Again, Crazy Beautiful You takes Daniel’s and Kathryn’s iconic status as ABS-CBN’s most successful brand that cuts across all platforms to its next level. From Teen King and Queen, KathNiel now becomes King and Queen of Hearts in this crazy, beautiful Valentine’s movie that every fan and film buff should not miss.
Crazy Beautiful You is centered on how the life journey of Jackie Serrano, (Kathyrn Bernardo) a rebellious problem child will coincide with Kiko Alcantara, (Daniel Padilla) a charming love child. Kiko will be assigned to look after Jackie as they fulfill the medical mission in a community. As they work together, they will unexpectedly embark in an unforgettable and crazy romantic adventure that will change their lives forever.
Joining the Valentine’s icons, Daniel and Kathryn in Crazy Beautiful You are veteran actors Lorna Tolentino and Gabby Concepcion, as well as newcomer Inigo Pascual.
Legendary Grand Slam Queen Lorna Tolentino gives life to the role of a mother desperate for the forgiveness of her daughter and will stop at nothing in correcting the wrongs she has committed, while Gabby Concepcion, who was a teen heartthrob in the 80s that transformed into an accomplished dramatic actor in the 90s, plays the role of a father who rights his past mistakes to be the man his son deserves. Inigo Pascual plays the role of Marcus, a young man that can potentially foil the romantic destiny of Kiko and Jackie.
It should be noted that this is the very first movie team-up of Daniel and Kathryn since the overwhelming success of their 2014 romantic-drama She’ Dating The Gangster, which earned almost Php263M in the box-office. Individually, Daniel and Kathyrn are very successful young artists as evident in their separate projects such as Daniel’s triple platinum full-length studio albums under Star Records and his jam-packed solo concerts; and in Kathryn’s equally thriving career as an actress, product endorser, and as a recording artist with several platinum awards under her laurel.
