Deadline recently revealed that Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor have been tapped to work on the screenplay of MGM’s Legally Blonde 3!
Reese Witherspoon, who will be reprising her role as attorney Elle Woods, shared her excitement on Instagram, saying it’s “#ElleWoodsApproved.”
Witherspoon is also producing along with Marc Platt, who produced the first installment in the franchise. The 2001 film was followed by Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde in 2003, and in 2009 the spin-off Legally Blondes was released.
The 2001 comedy film followed Witherspoon’s Elle Woods, who only wanted to be married with the man she loves. However, her boyfriend who goes into Harvard Law School to become a politician breaks up with her. He thinks that such a serious life isn’t suited for her. Elle then studies hard to get into the same school to teach her boyfriend a lesson.
