The much-anticipated Freakier Friday sequel had its Philippine premiere at SM Mall of Asia on August 5, 2025, and Filipino-Canadian actor Manny Jacinto was there to make the event even more memorable. The excitement kicked off with a fan event at the mall’s Main Atrium, where hundreds of eager fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the star before the screening.

“The Philippines has always held a special place in my heart, so I’m thrilled to be able to come home and share ‘Freakier Friday’ with my fellow Filipinos,” Jacinto shared, clearly feeling the love from the crowd.

The event, made possible by Globe Telecom and its partners, SM Mall of Asia and SM Cinema, set the stage for a night of fun and excitement as the film hit theaters nationwide.

A Sequel Fans Have Been Waiting For

Freakier Friday is a sequel to the beloved Disney classic, starring Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan, who reprise their iconic roles as Tess and Anna Coleman. This time, the story follows Anna, now a mother with a daughter and a soon-to-be stepdaughter, as she faces the ups and downs of merging two families. Lightning might strike twice as Tess and Anna grapple with yet another body-swap scenario that will have fans laughing, cringing, and cheering on these unforgettable characters.

Directed by Nisha Ganatra and based on the book by Mary Rodgers, Freakier Friday promises the same mix of humor, heart, and family-friendly antics that made the original so beloved. Joining the stellar cast are Julia Butters, Sophia Hammons, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Chad Michael Murray, with the film being produced by Kristin Burr, p.g.a., and Andrew Gunn, p.g.a. Executive producers include Jamie Lee Curtis, Nathan Kelly, Ann Marie Sanderlin, and Lindsay Lohan.
