“Final Destination: Bloodlines” Slays PH Box Office, Shatters Multiple Records

Hold on to your seats, horror fans—Death has never been more unstoppable.
The sixth entry in the iconic Final Destination franchise, Final Destination: Bloodlines, carved a terrifying path through cinemas over the weekend, smashing box office records across the Philippines and making the country one of the top global markets for the film.
According to a report by Deadline, the film raked in a staggering $102 million worldwide on its debut, with international markets contributing half of that total. Impressively, the Philippines ranked among the Top 3 international markets for opening weekend gross—a remarkable feat that cements the country’s status as a horror-loving hub.

Record-Breaking Weekend in the Philippines
Locally, Final Destination: Bloodlines earned $3.4 million (₱196 million) during its opening weekend, making it the biggest box office opening of 2025 so far in the Philippines.
But the body count of records doesn’t end there.
- Biggest opening weekend for an R-16 rated film in the country.
- Second-highest debut ever for a horror movie in the Philippines.
Not bad for a franchise where—spoiler alert—everyone dies.
A Chilling Return to Death’s Origins
Rated R-16 without cuts, the film plunges audiences back into the twisted mythos of Death’s cruel design.
The story follows Stefanie (played by rising star Kaitlyn Santa Juana), a college student tormented by violent, recurring nightmares. Fearing for her life—and her family’s—she returns home to confront the past and uncover the chilling secrets that could end the bloodline curse… if it’s not already too late.
Directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, this latest chapter reunites audiences with Final Destination’s signature suspense, gruesome ingenuity, and fate-driven storytelling. Santa Juana leads a stellar ensemble, including Teo Briones (a proud part-Filipino talent), Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, Rya Kihlstedt, Brec Bassinger, and the late, legendary Tony Todd.

Filmmakers Reveal the Thrills Behind the Kills
What keeps fans coming back for more? Co-director Adam Stein explains:
“The fun of ‘Final Destination’ is all those little elements that lead up to the deaths,” says co-director Stein. “And those elements are all inanimate, which means that it’s basically up to the filmmakers to bring it to life. It’s really the filmmaking that is the villain that’s chasing the characters. It’s all those insert extreme closeups of things that are hitting other things to create the chain reaction. So, it’s a joy for directors. Getting to bring that into the world, getting it in the camera, putting it in the edit in a way that brings Death to life is just so much fun.”
Adds co-director Zach Lipovsky,
“It’s really challenging, because the audience is participating in every ‘Final Destination’ movie. You’re sitting in the theater, you know what’s gonna happen… but you also know that there are gonna be surprises, and as a filmmaker, that’s really challenging, because—”
Cue Stein’s playful interjection:
“Spoiler alert—everyone dies.”
