8 Interesting Bits of Trivia of ‘Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2’ That May Surprise You

3 years later, we still can't get enough of our favorite team of misfits heroes.

Who would have thought that introducing an unlikely group of Marvel superheroes to movie fanatics would actually create a buzz and collect great reviews from everyone? Well, it all paid off when the 2014 film debuted with over $773 million worldwide. Now, 3 years later, we still can't get enough of our favorite team of misfits heroes.

A more raved about sequel has blasted off the silver screen garnering $6.6 million overseas on its first day! Have you heard there are FIVE (yes, five!) post-credit scenes to watch out for?! Now, that's all the more reason to catch them this weekend. To make it more interesting, we've listed down fascinating bits of trivia and easter eggs ready to be hatched before watching these superheroes on the big screen.

1. The teaser poster for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 takes inspiration from the Ramones' album cover, Rocket to Russia. It is the third album by the punk rock band who performed 2,263 concerts, touring nonstop for 22 years.

2. Chris Pratt, who plays Peter Quill and Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, was thrilled when he found out Kurt Russell was playing Quill's father. He even asked Kurt Russell to be his dad in real life!

3. Over the past fifty years, Kurt Russell has appeared in many Disney films; but, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is his first Disney film and first superhero film in twelve years since Sky High in 2005.

4. Miley Cyrus voices Mainframe, an evolved technology designed by Iron Man.

5. Legendary actor Sylvester Stallone also has a new character to watch out for! Director James Gunn says Stallone isn't just a cameo but his role will be very important and central to the storyline.

6. James Gunn's brother, Sean, returns for his role as a Ravager in the film but his greatest work, really, is that he's a motion reference actor who stands in as Rocket Raccoon on set for the animators. James describes his brother as "an incredibly limber guy that can do a lot of strange physical things," on a Facebook live session.

7. Do you remember Howard the Duck and Cosmo the Spacedog from the first film? They're returning for another round but make sure you don't blink because you might miss the moment! Perhaps a longer appearance in Vol. 3?

8. As seen (or not) in almost all Marvel movies, Stan Lee who is a comic-book writer and a former president and chairman of Marvel Comics also makes an appearance in GOTG2! The best part about Stan Lee's appearance is it brings all his cameo appearances together so your eyes are better glued on the screen when he does!

Marvel's 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2' is now playing in theaters nationwide and is distributed in the Philippines by Walt Disney Studios Philippines.
