Reset, a film produced by Jackie Chan, hits Philippine cinemas this June

Directed by South Korean director and screenwriter Chang and a joint production of Asian superstar Jackie Chan’s New Clues Films – the production company the produced the Hollywood mega blockbuster The Karate Kid starring Chan and Jaden Smith as well as Beginning Of The Great Revival, and the Chinese remake of Mel Gibson’s What Women Want – and Yang Mi’s Jiaxing Media – the studio that produced such Asian mega hits as Eternal LoveTranslator, and The Witness – Reset is a high octane, edge-of-your-seat action thriller that every true-blue aficionado of the genre will surely enjoy.

Set in the distant future 2025, the film is centered on Xia Tien (Yang Mi), a single mother who works as a key researcher in developing a method of time travel using black holes. When Choi I-hoo (Wallace Hua) kidnaps her son and demands that she hand over the new technology, Xia Tien uses the unfinished time machine to go back an hour and fifty minutes earlier in hopes of saving her son.

Yang Mi gained widespread mainstream fame after she starred 2011 hit Palace as well as the horror flick Mysterious Island, which is recognized as the most successful horror film in China. Yang Mi also won the coveted Most Popular Actress award at the 17th Shanghai Television Festival.

Wallace Hua on the other hand is distinguished as one of the Most Influential People In China in 2015 and in 2016, he starred in the detective thriller Inside Or Outside. Wallace also co-starred in the historical drama The Imperial Doctress, which is one of the highest rated dramas of 2016.  Wallace is awarded Most Popular Actor and Most Marketable Artist for his performance in The Imperial Doctress as well as Love Me, If You Dare at the 1st China Television Drama Quality Ceremony.

Director Chang is formerly a music video director who debuted as a movie director in the Korean horror film Death Bell in 2008. His second feature The Target (2014), won the Golden Goblet Award at the Shanghai International Film Festival, and the movie was also invited to the Cannes Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival in 2014.

Distributed by Star Cinema in the Philippines, Reset is showing in theaters nationwide starting June 28.
