Good news for moviegoers around the metro! Ayala Malls Cinemas announced that their movie theaters will also reopen on November 10!
Earlier this month, the IATF’s updated IATF memo finally allowed movie theaters to reopen with limited capacity in places under Alert Level 3, including Metro Manila. The Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP) also confirmed that we can finally watch movies again on the big screen starting November 10.
The Ayala Malls Cinemas that will resume operations include Glorietta, Ayala Malls Circuit, Bonifacio High Street, Market! Market!, Ayala Malls Manila Bay, TriNoma, Fairview Terraces, and Ayala Malls Cloverleaf.
They have yet to announce their guidelines for moviegoers and their latest movie schedules. But the excited crowd can expect that the IATF’s health protocols as well as CEAP’s “Sa Sine Safe Ka” guidelines will be implemented. These guidelines require moviegoers a fully accomplished vaccination card; body temperature checks; and face shields and face masks. Eating is also prohibited and there will be two seats apart between individuals, even for those who are entering the cinema together. Cashless and contactless purchasing of tickets is also encouraged.
As for the guidelines for the movie exhibitors, we can expect improved air ventilation, hand sanitizers at every entrance, deep cleaning between screenings, and mandatory handwashing for their employees every 30 minutes.
