Just about a month ago, we saw Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. in yet another iconic role after the trailer and poster for the upcoming film Dolittle were dropped. This time, we're getting to know more about his animal friends in the new character posters revealed via the film's Twitter account.

Check out the character posters below:

The film follows the famous doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria's England, Dr. John Dolittle, seven years after the death of his wife. Due to this tragedy he becomes a hermit hiding behind the walls of his manor with his menagerie of exotic animals. When the young queen falls ill however, the doctor is forced to embark on an adventure with his animal apprentices in order to find a cure.

Based on the creation of English author Hugh Lofting, Dr. Dolittle had been portrayed in the recent years by Eddie Murphy, putting a modern and very comedic spin on the character. Now it is set in Victorian era with Robert Downey Jr. on the role, and the direction of Academy Award winner Stephen Gaghan. The film also stars Antonio Banderas, Michael Sheen, Marion Cotillard, Tom Holland, Ralph Fiennes, Selena Gomez, and more.

Dolittle is set for release on January 2020. For more updates, check out the film's website and social media pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
