Angelina Jolie is back with her black horns and raven wings as Maleficent fights her latest battle: an all-out war against Aurora's future mother-in-law!

Despite Maleficent's disapproval, Aurora decides to marry a Prince from a neighboring kingdom. Soon, the fairy godmother turns violent and unleashes the magical creatures to wage war against the kingdom's queen. During the onslaught, the horned fairy falls and is saved by "another creature," which turns out to be one of her own kind. Maleficent then meets a whole flock of fairies, each possessing the same twisted physical features that she has. This last bit is somehow teasing a deeper origin story to Maleficent that might just be revealed in this sequel.
Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is directed by Joachim Ronning with a screenplay by Linda Woolverton, Micah Fitzerman-Blue, Noah Harpster, and Charles Perrault. It stars Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Maleficent lands on theaters on October 16.
