As we celebrate the country’s 119th Independence Day, we also honor our heroes who fought bravely in any way they could for the sake of our freedom today. One of these heroes is Gregorio “Goyo” Del Pilar, the youngest general in the Philippine Revolutionary Forces during the Spanish era. And like some of our other famous heroes, Antonio Luna and Jose Rizal, Goyo is getting his own biopic!
Entitled Goyo: Ang Batang Heneral, this film will be helmed by Heneral Luna director Jerrold Tarog and will be under the Artikulo Uno Productions.
Paulo Avelino is set to play the titular role, and he will be starring alongside some of the people we’ve already seen in Heneral Luna including Mon Confiado as Emilio Aguinaldo, Epy Quizon as Apolinario Mabini, Benjamin Alves as Manuel Quezon, and Leo Martinez as Pedro Paterno.
The film has finally started its production during the last few weeks of May, and fans have been getting their weekly sneak peek at the behind the scenes of Goyo since!
