At times like these that we cannot book our much-anticipated travels due to the ongoing pandemic, Airbnb steps forward and lets us book the experience at home instead!
Introducing Airbnb Online Experiences, a virtual travel experience catalogue where you can learn new things from around the world without leaving your home. It is based on their accomodation service ‘Experiences’ which offered guests different activities to experience at the country or place that they traveled to.
Since traveling is a no-no under the present circumstances, Airbnb moved the accomodation online through the Zoom platform where you can meditate with a Japanese Buddhist monk, learn to bake Swedish pastries, meet the dogs of Chernobyl, discover the secrets of magic, and so much more!
Payments will be based on time spent and varies from one experience to another. Prices range from around P160 to over P1,000. You can also be part of the community by being a host of your own Experience. A Visit the Online Experiences webpage to see their complete offers.
Airbnb also partnered with local organizations from around the world to bring the experiences to isolated elders during this pandemic free of charge.
