Virgin Labfest 2020 Goes Virtual with Lockdown Edition

This year's lineup has also been revealed!

The Cultural Center of The Philippines' annual festival of unpublished, untried, untested and unstaged theater plays, Virgin Labfest (VLF), will continue its 16th season this year by adapting to the current situation we are in today.

Virgin Labfest 2020 "KAPIT" subtitled "Lab in The Time of COVID" will run from June 10 to 28, 2020 and will be held on a "virtual stage," announced the festival director JK Anicoche on a Facebook video.

In the same video, Anicoche says that there are many important stories out there, about family, sexuality, freedom, and other themes that are just waiting to be told. And they will continue to do so, with their platform.

To those who are unfamiliar to the VLF, it is an annual festival of plays organized by the Cultural Center of The Philippines, Tanghalang Pilipino, and Writer's Bloc Inc., where a curated pool of unstaged and untested plays, mostly from rising playwrights, are brought to life on the CCP stage; except this year, of course.

There are nine new plays in this year's Main Performances category, to be joined by three revisited plays, and six staged readings. Below are the nine new plays headlining the festival:
