The Garage, a VR zone and food park at City of Dreams Manila, is setting up weekend nights right with great food, epic VR activities, and lively music through GTV Unplugged, which puts into spotlight local talented artists Blue Jean Junkies, Meleena, and Pancake 80’s every Friday and Saturday starting November 16 from 9 PM to 12 AM.
A rock ‘n roll band formed since 1999, Blue Jean Junkies released their first album in 2004; and has since gone on to play at several hotels and entertainment venues, as well as at major local and international events. Performing on November 16 and 24, the band, led by its front man Nino Mendoza, is known for songs including "Fine Company," and their current singles, “Fun House” and “Blue.”
Known for her playful yet soul-touching and intricate voice techniques, Meleena is set to fill GTV Unplugged’s stage with soulful RnB, blues, and jazz music on November 17. Also a songwriter, she appeared in a number of singing competitions on television, and performs with a guitarist or a full band during performances.
On November 23 and 30, Pancake 80’s is serenading the crowd with songs in different genres, rendered with their own unique flair. An acoustic/full band composed of five members, Pancake 80’s have received awards from both local and international competitions.
Complementing the outstanding music at The Garage’s GTV Unplugged are activities featured at the VR Zone, which enable guests to delve into the immersive experience of virtual reality entertainment; and at the same time delight in the wide range of casual dining choices at the food park. A first of its kind in the Philippines and Bandai Namco Amusement’s first VR Zone entertainment facility in Southeast Asia, the VR Zone features activities such as Mario Kart Arcade GP VR, Hospital Escape Terror, and Ski Rodeo.
Meanwhile, the food park features carefully curated food and beverage truck and trailers with offerings from Hokkaido Ramen Santouka, Katsu Sora, Pink’s Hotdog, Little Flour, El Chupacabra, Pizza Grigliata, Farmacy, Chocol8, The Roaster, and Juiced.
A fitting venue for good music, great food, and exciting VR activities, The Garage is situated in a 2,714-square meter air-conditioned space located at the upper ground floor, which stands out with its modern industrial interiors catering to a 563-seating capacity. Designed by award-winning Paris-based creative design agency, Malherbe Design in collaboration with Westar Architectural Interior Design, a group known for its strong sensitivity to contemporary design aesthetics, The Garage is further given life and vibrancy with graffiti works of two prominent names in the street art scene: Kookoo Ramos and DeeJae Paeste.
